Construction Week - Day 4

Well, It is day 4 of our 12 week long basement construction project. Eric and My dad are making amazing progress so far. Both are eager to start working each day and feel great about what they have accomplished at the end of the day. Eric has been in charge of plumbing for the last day or so (getting all the drains and vents in line for the bathroom and laundry fixtures) and my father has been busy with the demo of a closet and shelving unit as well as putting up the wall that divides the bedroom from the bathroom and the laundry room from the family room. All of this progress is after 2 days of cutting and removing the concrete slab in the basement in preparation for the plumbing. They took turns cutting with the big saw and using the sledge hammer... Very manly work. We hope to have the basement framed out and hopefully electrified by the end of the week.. Then we become weekend warriors until March.. It will be a lot of work but will be put to great use once Eric and Kai move in. Avery is very excited to have her playroom moved to the basement. Kai and Avery are also goint to get some fun upgrades to their respective rooms. Kai will be picking out new paint and doing a few other fun things yet to be determined to make the room his. Avery will finally get all of her A's hung up and we have bought some flower decals for her already pink walls. Enjoy the photo's of the last few days of work. The egress window was put in about a month ago completely by Eric. It has been really fun seeing how excited to work on this project both Eric and My dad are. Oh and for those of you concerned about miss Ella the cat... She is currently residing at Eric's apartment getting to know her new best friend Milo the Hampster. She is loving life on the 17th floor of his apartment building blissfully unaware of all the chaos at her home. She is also very happy to see us every evening.
